How Sarah keeps OHC moving

Sarah joined Off Hours Coding in September 2021. She spent her previous six years working for a high-street car rental firm but got tired of the hidden fees and the constant pressure to sell extra insurance. At OHC, she manages our current fleet of 38 vehicles from our office near Station Road. She is usually the first person you will speak to after you submit your initial enquiry on our website.

Her main job involves coordinating the monthly swaps. Most of our members in the Reading tech corridor want to switch cars on a Friday afternoon so they have something fun for the weekend. Last month alone, Sarah managed 14 separate handovers across the RG1 and RG2 postcodes. She makes sure every car is cleaned, fuelled, and has the correct paperwork in the glovebox before it reaches your driveway.

Removing the stress of car ownership

We know that IT professionals have enough on their plate without worrying about MOT dates or tire changes. Sarah handles all the boring bits. In early 2024, she updated our system to cut the time it takes to add a new driver to our fleet insurance policy. It used to take four days of back-and-forth emails. Now, Sarah usually gets it done in about 7 hours if you send over your DVLA check code before noon.

By the way, she also keeps a close eye on the billing. We promise one monthly bill that covers everything, and Sarah is the one who makes that happen. If there is ever a discrepancy with a congestion charge or a parking fine, she deals with the local council directly so you don't have to spend your lunch break on hold.

Practical support for Reading drivers

Honestly, things don't always go perfectly when you are dealing with cars and the M4 motorway. If a member gets a flat tire or a warning light pops up, Sarah is the one who coordinates the recovery. She has a direct line to three local garages in Reading that we trust for quick turnarounds. She understands that you need a car that fits your calendar, not a car that spends three weeks in a workshop.

Outside of work, Sarah knows the Berkshire roads better than most. She is the one who suggests which cars in our fleet are best for a quick run down to the coast or a weekend trip into the Cotswolds. If you are not sure which vehicle to pick for your next month, just ask her for a recommendation based on what you actually need to do that week.
