Who is eligible to join Off Hours Coding?
You must be at least 31 years old and have held a UK driving license for 4 years. We check for major points or recent claims on your record before you join. Honestly, this strictness is the only reason we can keep the insurance costs low for our other 47 members.
How long does a car swap actually take?
The process at our Station Road hub is designed to be fast. You park your old car, sign the digital handover on our tablet, and grab the keys for the next one. We timed it last month and the average swap took 13 minutes from start to finish. It is much faster than waiting at a rental desk.
How often can I change my car?
Our Executive plan includes one free swap every 30 days. If you want to change cars more often, we charge a flat £47 fee to cover the valeting and safety checks.
Will this impact my credit score or mortgage?
Traditional car finance is a major debt that shows up on your credit file. Off Hours Coding is a recurring service, not a loan. This keeps your personal borrowing power high if you are looking for a mortgage or business equipment. It is a smarter way for freelancers to stay mobile.
What happens if I have a breakdown?
Every car in our fleet has full roadside assistance. If a car cannot be fixed at the roadside, we provide a replacement vehicle within 4 business hours to keep you moving.
Is there a long-term financial commitment?
No. You pay month-to-month and can stop or pause whenever you like. We just need 30 days' notice to process the return at our Reading office. There are no exit fees, no long-term contracts, and no hidden penalties for ending your membership early. We built this because we were tired of rigid 3-year leases.
