For those weeks when you need more space, our SUV fleet is ready. We stock mid-size and large SUVs from top European brands. These are perfect for family holidays, moving house, or winter driving conditions. Every SUV comes with roof rack options and all-weather tires. You can switch from your sedan to an SUV for just a week or a whole month. We see a high demand for these during the summer months, so we suggest booking 2 weeks ahead. Our team handles the ISOFIX checks and safety inspections.

Getting more space for the weekend

Most of our members in Reading drive small electric cars for their daily commute into the town centre or the Green Park business park. But when Saturday morning comes, that small boot often isn't enough for a trip to the coast or a big shop at the retail park. We keep 14 mid-size and large SUVs at our Station Road site for exactly these moments. You can swap your usual city car for a Volvo XC60 or an Audi Q5 for the next 9 or 16 days without changing your basic monthly bill. Swap for the weekend and bring it back when your normal routine starts again.

Safety checks you can actually trust

We know family safety isn't a joke, especially when you are heading out on the M4 with kids in the back. Our team of 3 mechanics performs a 42-point safety check every time a vehicle returns to our lot near Reading Station. If you have young children, we help with the heavy lifting. We carry out ISOFIX base checks for your car seats and can fit roof bars if you are heading off with mountain bikes. Last July, we assisted 38 different families with their holiday pack-ups right here in our RG1 garage.

Equipped for Berkshire weather

Every SUV in our current fleet comes with specific gear to handle local driving conditions. We don't just give you a bare-bones car and expect you to figure it out. Honestly, we are quite picky about the maintenance of our fleet because we drive these cars ourselves too. You get a vehicle that is ready for the actual road, not just a showroom floor.

All-weather tires are fitted to every SUV by October 22nd to handle wet and icy lanes.
Heavy-duty boot liners are included to protect the interior from muddy boots or garden waste.
Integrated sat-nav systems are updated monthly to include the latest roadworks on the A33 and A329.
Rear seats fold completely flat, providing up to 1,540 litres of storage space for furniture or gear.

During the summer peak, our 7 largest vehicles are usually booked out several weeks in advance. We recommend checking the Off Hours Coding app or calling us 11 days before your planned trip to secure a specific model. If you are moving house, we have two SUVs with tow bars available for small trailers. One monthly bill covers everything, including the slightly higher insurance costs for the larger engine sizes.
